GUWAHATI : As a result of a vital reshuffle in the Assam Police Department, 43 APS officers have been transferred to different state districts. The Assam Government has announced the news on Friday. From the sources of Assam State Government's Home Department, it is revealed that the officers are posted in different posts as well.

The Additional Superintendent of police (HQ), Bidyut Das Boro from Udalguri has been transferred and posted to Hailakandi as Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime).

The Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Tinsukia, Ripunjoy Kakoti has been transferred and posted in Ulubari, Guwahati, as the Additional Superintendent of Police (CID).

The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Central) Guwahati, Pallav Tamuli has been transferred and posted in Hojai as Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime).

Moushumi Kalita, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police ( Security and Intelligence) has been transferred as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-1), Guwahati.

Along with this, 38 APS officers have been promoted to Senior APS Grade-ll and has been posted in different regions of the state.

As an outcome of the ongoing corruption among govt employees in  Assam, including in the police department, frequent reshuffles have been reported. The department has arrested approximately 130 people including 120 public servants in the past six years. 48 government employees were caught red handed while taking bribes and arrested by the department of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption only in October 2022.

Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma stated that the war against corruption will be continued with zero tolerance policy against corruption. It is observed that, since Himanta Biswa Sarma took charge as Chief Minister of Assam on May 10 last year, till 19th Oct this year, 63 person including 61 govt employees have been detained by the Directorate of Vigilance and anti-corruption.

More than 70 lakh has been seized from the government gazetted officers.
